The Cashmere Throw: hand-spun and hand-woven, pure luxury!

A cashmere throw is one of winter’s little pleasures, so what can you say when it has been made entirely by hand in a luxurious 100% thick Himalayan cashmere pashmina, also hand-spun…

Himalayan Cashmere Throw handspun handwoven

We’ve come up with the perfect cashmere throw, ideal for comforting on the sofa on long winter evenings, but also versatile enough to be worn as a scarf: wrapped around your neck it will warm up your winter outfits with a touch of nonchalant style. Irresistible!

For the same weight, cashmere is three times more insulating than lambswool, and therefore three times warmer. The RUPSHU plaid scarf is therefore both light (480g) and incomparably soft and warm: it is the warmest Pashmina in our range!

Made from pure thick hand-spun pashmina – an ancestral method that is more respectful of the fibre – the RUPSHU cashmere plaid scarf has been hand-woven in a twill pattern that gives the fabric an absolutely incomparable softness and fluffiness. It has a square format and the ends are edged with fringes.

New ! An upcycled silk capsule collection!

For ten years now, Princesse Moghole has made it her mission to promote a totally unknown artisanal cashmere: the Ladakh pashmina! We are committed to informing you in the most total transparency, without hesitating to denounce the potential scams that are going on in the field, whether through dishonesty or simple ignorance on the part of the seller. Thanks to you, this historic cashmere – the only truly eco-responsible – continues to live on, as well as the traditional craftsmanship that has been associated with it for 500 years.

Because the love of beautiful, sustainable fabrics is an integral part of our DNA, Princesse Moghole has the privilege this season of welcoming the Danish brand Cofur for its expertise in recycled vintage silk. Cofur is a Slow Fashion brand, which only uses silk already in circulation for its collections, bringing old Indian saris back to life, in an eco-responsible Upcycling approach.

the sari is a very becoming garment

These second-hand saris, 5 to 6m long, are carefully selected for the quality of their silk, then washed, sometimes tie-dyed and entrusted to experienced seamstresses who give them a second life. The most popular of these saris are in natural silk crepe, a heavy silk with a magnificent drape, with a matte and soft touch, which washes without problem.

Silk is a luxurious and prestigious material, natural and breathable. Like cashmere, it has many properties: cool on the skin, insulating, heat-regulating and resistant. It is renowned for its soft touch and extremely becoming fluid fall. But silk is expensive, even very expensive, and the clothing industry tends to replace it with viscose, a fiber obtained chemically and therefore falsely described as natural.

Thanks to India’s incomparable textile tradition, these silk crepe saris are all different and provide an exceptional raw material due to the quality of their silk with original prints sometimes re-embroidered. Each piece made is therefore unique. The greatest attention has been paid to detail: English seams and in-seam pockets. The shapes have been designed in one size to enhance the body of all women, and are worn perfectly from 36 to 44.

We are therefore pleased to present to you the key piece of the season: the Kimono, a versatile and timeless garment that you will no longer be able to do without…

If you like beautiful materials, ethical and sustainable clothing, you have found the perfect kimono!

We have selected two forms of kimonos, in two different lengths:

  • the classic kimono, belted with long sleeves
  • short-sleeved open kimono

Are online items available immediately?

All items are in stock and ready to ship.

Will you be offering new products soon?

India, where our Pashminas are made, is also affected by the Covid19 pandemic. The country is also subject to a containment procedure, no shipment of new products is currently possible.

What about the next shipment of embroidered Pashminas?

I go to Srinagar every year to select new embroidered Pashminas and should have been there at the moment, but the borders are currently closed and should remain so until at least September. This trip will probably not be possible this year, but perhaps a remote selection of novelties can be envisaged in order to continue to ensure the income of the families who carry them out. Nothing is defined yet.

What is the situation in India and Kashmir now?

India implemented containment on March 25. But this country of 1.3 billion inhabitants with precarious sanitary conditions is already hard hit by the economic crisis and the measure had the consequence of exacerbating the already existing difficulties. State borders were closed within 4 hours, making supply very difficult, and the cessation of activity hit the poorest hard, causing the mass exodus of millions of daily workers from cities to their villages, forced to choose between coronavirus or hunger …

For the moment our partners in Delhi and Srinagar are doing well, our thoughts are with them.

Update of the rate on October 1st

Did you know that it was in the Himalayas at 5000m altitude that cashmere was born? For centuries, goats have been combed there to collect their warm and warm winter down.
Today Himalayan cashmere represents less than 1% of world production, we call this handmade ethical cashmere : Pashmina.

Since 2012 Princesse Moghole shares her passion, that of these exceptional accessories that are the real pashminas, with the mission to offer you, in all transparency, an irreproachable quality at the best price.

Cashmere is a rare and expensive raw material, the price of which continues to rise. It’s been 7 years since we resisted this trend by putting a point of honor to keep our prices unchanged, which is unfortunately no longer possible: to guarantee the same quality we will have to increase the price of Plain cashmere Pashminas.

So we wanted to inform our customers that an update will take place on October 1st: it will concern stoles, whose price will increase to € 169 and shawls, which will increase to € 259.
